The idea, the name and the BigQuery
The idea for a Big Data audience measurement solution was born in early 2012. In previous projects we found a way to uniquely identify devices, and several ideas came out of this, one of which was to start measuring them. Back then we started turning to Big Data solutions, but BigQuery (by Google), provided us with analytical abilities to handle large amounts of data.
Agreement with Ipsos for the Adria region
We created the first version of Dotmetrics system and approached the largest regional market research agency, Ipsos. Based on the pilot project we presented to them the agreement was made, and this was the start of our famous long-term cooperation.
First big funding
As the workloads were piling up, ideas and needs progressed we found ourselves in need of some financial support to keep the project going. Help came to us from the Croatian IT company Infodom.
Start of official measurement in Croatia
This was a really good year for us. Our system was all grown up and ready to collect. Ipsos made all the necessary arrangements with media and agencies and we started official measurement in our home country - Croatia
Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia
As Dotmetrics proved his value on home ground, other countries followed Croatia's lead. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and later Slovenia joined our measurement system.
Getting that UK tender
Good news travels fast. After only three years and petabytes of data collected and classified we competed as a subcontractor of Ipsos at UKOM’s contest for an official measurement system for the UK media and won.
